📣 Position Overview

We’re looking for a creative, reliable, and mission-driven Social Media and Engagement Intern to help amplify the Forward Party in Virginia’s message across digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone who loves storytelling, understands online culture, and wants hands-on experience shaping the public voice of a growing political movement.

You’ll work closely with volunteer leaders to create engaging content, grow our online presence, and help Virginians discover a new political path forward.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Develop and schedule content for Forward Virginia’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok)

• Create graphics, short videos, and other digital assets that communicate our values and initiatives

• Monitor trends, conversations, and opportunities to engage with the public in a constructive, positive way

• Assist with digital campaigns around events, candidate support, and political reform initiatives

• Track analytics and help identify what content resonates most with our audience

• Support community engagement by responding to comments and messages in a respectful, solutions-oriented tone

• Collaborate with the communications team to maintain consistent branding and messaging

🧩 What We’re Looking For

• Strong writing and communication skills

• Familiarity with major social media platforms and current digital trends

• Basic design or video editing skills (Canva, CapCut, Adobe tools, etc.)

• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn

• Interest in political reform, civic engagement, or movement-building

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• A commitment to respectful, constructive dialogue—no trolling, no toxicity
