Conversation to focus on Virginia’s upcoming elections, redistricting, and the path for independent politics heading into 2026

Richmond, VA — October 28, 2025— The Forward Party of Virginia will host its final “Fireside Chat” of the year on October 30, 2025, featuring Mayor Brian R. Vincent of Farmville, Virginia, in conversation with Sophia A. Nelson, Vice Chair of Communications for the Forward Party of Virginia. The event will be pre-recorded. Mayor Vincent, an Independent who has become affiliated with the Forward Party, will join Nelson to discuss the shifting political landscape in the Commonwealth — from the upcoming 2025 gubernatorial and legislative elections to the potential impacts of redistricting and a possible Democratic sweep led by Abigail Spanberger, who currently leads by double digits in statewide polling.

“This conversation couldn’t come at a more pivotal moment,” said Nelson. “Virginians are looking for a new kind of politics — one that’s not defined by party extremes but by problem-solving and progress.
